The world-famous goldsmith and jeweler Peter Carl Fabergé (1846 - 1920) created numerous beautiful objects made of precious materials, all of which testify to his ingenuity, craftsmanship and masterly craftsmanship. Exhibition and catalog are dedicated to a very specific part of his work. The two princesses from the House of Darmstadt-Hessen, who were associated with the Tsar's family by marriage, received Faberge's work as gifts, which they in turn sent between 1884 and 1917 to their siblings in England and Germany. These personal gifts and the family relationships between the dynasties are in focus in the exhibition and in the accompanying book. Book in German.
